Returning a movie at the redbox (Inglorious Basterds, which I enjoyed much more than I would have thought; Brad Pit plays impish devil-hero better than anyone!) I had the pleasure of waiting behind this happy animal and its person. The wag. It did not stop. Dogs are great.

Listening to the MT State Legislature’s Law and Justice Committee grill the Public Defender Commission on the lack of managent in the system. It was more exciting than you’d think. Two things: Legislators don’t understand poverty and the only care about money. That dissonance explains a lot about why our world just isn’t working.

I left work early today to enjoy what feels like a tropical heatwave — temperatures in the 30s! My walk home took me up in the hills south of town. This is looking NW. The mountains around here are nothing to brag about, but I still love these views.

Today was not a great day except for two things: this walk and my friend superdilettante gifting me w/a subscription to flickr! I’m “pro” again for another year! Hooray, and thank you, poulet!

Snow at work:

It has snowed off and on for three days, which has been just beautiful! Of course, I haven’t had to drive anywhere; it’s wonderful to walk in/through (although bitterly cold). A couple of weeks ago I was scoffing at all the cars rattling around the dry streets with studded snow tires. I’m not scoffing now.

I have fallen in love with tumblr. I would make it my online home but for one thing: no comments. The “notes” feature is weak. It doesn’t create conversations; it creates link lists, trackback lists. Lame. And disappointing, really. Or am I missing something?
